Amish Farm - Harvesting Corn

Buggy Ride - View from Inside

This morning we drove to the nearby village of Bird-in-Hand to take a buggy ride through some Amish farms. We saw some of them harvesting their corn using horse-drawn equipment, of course. All their houses and farm buildings were very nice and their farms neat and orderly. We stopped at one farm where a girl came out with cookies and decorated horse shoes to sell. We were not allowed to take photos at this farm.

After the buggy ride we ate lunch at the Plain & Fancy Restaurant & Country Store. I had their chicken pot pie (without crust) and mixed vegetables, both of which were very tasty. I bought some candy and birch beer sodas. Birch beer is similar to root beer.
