Wow, what a jam packed weekend we had at the track! As you probably already know, we spent the past three days at Nascar here in Las Vegas. It was arrive early, stay late each and everyday. I'm not used to getting up at the crack of dawn, so after three days of it my 'rear' was dragging, lol! But it was totally worth it, we had a great time. I was the only 'girl' in the group this year but the guys were fun to hang with. There were three women in Saturday's Nationwide race including Danica Patrick. Next to Dale Earnhardt Jr, I think she is the most popular driver in the line-up. She didn't run in the Sunday race and placed 12th on Saturday. It would be cool if she could pull off a win soon, sure would put all those boys pulling against her in their place, lol!

The weather stayed in the 70's for all three days, although the wind kicked up a bit on Sunday. We were grateful for that, so many years it's really cold and windy. We did all of the cooking outdoors and isn't it amazing how things just seem to taste better when cooked that way? My mother would have a heart attack if she'd seen my plate every morning laden down with sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns & pancakes! Oh my, but it was good...I even had a couple of bloody Mary's which is unusual for me. Archie makes his secret recipe every year and they are delicious. Our buddy Glenn does all of the grilling and does a mean burger & spicy Italian dog for lunch. And of course Jim makes his terrific chili every year on Sunday. I brought taco soup to the party on Saturday and a jello cake on Sunday. Needless to say, we were never hungry!

And, to top off a terrific weekend, Larry entered us into two pools. You know the kind they do for football? Well, they put all the driver's names into a hat & you can buy as many as you like for $5 each. Guess we were blessed with golden hands this time, because we drew both first & second place out of the hat!

Yippeee, now that made for a perfect ending to a GREAT weekend!
