My brother Jim texted that he and Brigitte had stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Kaanapali. I had some pictures I had not posted previously that I thought might bring back some memories for them and for people who have not been here this might be some inspiration for a future trip.
The lobby is very pretty, as you can see from the pictures. I never did hear one of the parrots talk but it was fun to listen to the humans try to get the parrots to talk.
The pool is incredible but very crowded - it is a follow the sun design with several swim up bars including one that is in a shaded grotto. There is a child's pool.
The restaurant we ate at was excellent - ambiance, food, service but overpriced even by Hawaii standards. It sets on a very narrow beach with rock but the next beach up is awesome and then goes on and one.
The location is good. It is less than a 15 minute drive to Lahaina with lots of restaurants and shops. However, it is quite a distance to the airport (about an hour).
This would be a great place to stay if you want to hang out and be pampered at a hotel.
