Into northern New Mexico.
It was an interesting drive from Ruidoso to here, as the road I took essentially took me out of one mountain range, across the low open desert area, and back into another range at Santa Fe. It was very picturesque approaching the Santa Fe area, with the mountains and all. And once again, my secondary road route met with little traffic.
Weather here is a bit cooler – low 30’s to mid 50’s. The campground I am staying in is essentially in the middle of a juniper forest – which is pretty much the prominent vegetation in this whole area.
The campground is actually located about 10 miles south of downtown Santa Fe, but there are numerous homes in this vicinity. The prominent construction style is definitely adobe, and very much earthy tones, which also tend to blend in with the countryside. The homes are really quite appealing in this style.
Otherwise, as I get out and about there will be more to report at a later date.
I might also note that my internet connection at this location is not the best, so pictures may not show up for awhile.
