Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Larry & Donny this morning right before he headed out...

Yayyy, he's here!

Hi son!

Our girl, Miss Lily, enjoying her grapes, love the hat!

At the hotel...

Miss Lily, Kelly & the groom, Josh...

Isn't the flower girl pretty?

Beautiful hair...

Congratulations Josh!

All tuckered out, we understand she danced the night away too!

The skies were pretty tonight as we waited for Donny to arrive...

Changing quite rapidly...

Oh my, reminds me of the sky during the wildfire in Nebraska...

One last glorious view before it disappeared for tonight, awesome!

We got an unexpected surprise last night. Our son Donny called to say that he had mandatory down time available and was going to be in our area. Don drives an 18-wheeler for Schneider and his normal route is the I-5 corridor in northern California. But this run was taking him from Oxnard, California to Ogden, Utah so he was traveling I-15 through Nevada. He called to say he would be in about 7pm, and after learning that we were having enchilada casserole with all the fixin's for dinner, jokingly said that he would drive faster! Of course, that's not possible. His truck has a governor on it & will only allow 61 mph as a top speed. Of course with the 20,000 lbs of Pampers he's carrying he probably couldn't do any faster anyway! Just kiddin'.....

Normally he parks at a large truck stop but this time we decided it might work out for him to park in the empty land across the street. Getting those BIG rigs into a residential area can be quite tricky but there aren't any low wires in this area and the streets are pretty good for a wide, sweeping turn. Worked out just fine & he was able to visit a bit longer before hitting the sack. He even brought his guitar in so that he could show Dad a couple of pointers. As you know, Bonnie & Larry had Larry's dad's guitar refurbished for him for Christmas. He's enjoying his practice sessions, although his fingers are still sore and not yet callused. He'll be glad when that part is over. Hopefully he can play a chord or two by the time we arrive in South Dakota, that's the goal!

Don's stepson Josh married a couple of weeks ago and the whole family was able to attend, including Donny. Kelly shared a few pics taken at the hotel & at the wedding. Our beautiful granddaughter Miss Lily was the flower girl. She looked so pretty. It looks like everyone had a lovely time. Congratulations Josh! As you know, Donny's family lives in Brookings, Oregon and so we don't get to see them near enough. Tonight we got to visit on Skype & it was quite fun to actually see their precious faces while we talked. Wow, has Miss Lily grown. She is turning into quite the little lady and is smart as a whip. Isn't that a strange expression, don't know who came up with that one.

Well, will close for now. I need to do a bit of laundry and some dusting & vacuuming too. We're celebrating Cindy & Ashley's birthday's on Saturday and cousin Lois arrives from California for a few days on Sunday. Our social calendar is quite full these days! We love it....See you later
