Hill Country.
This was just a little hop, skip and a jump from Artesia. Again, the secondary roads are decent traveling, and the scenery is much nicer than a freeway. As you can see from the pictures, there still wasn’t much out there until I started climbing into the hills.
There was a fairly steady gradual climb starting a few miles west of Roswell. About ½ hour before reaching Ruidoso, I passed a 6,000 foot elevation marker. This also means the temperatures have dropped a bit from the past few days, although it’s still comfortable.
There’s really not too much to tell about today. After getting set up, I pretty much lounged around for the rest of the day, and worked on this a bit.
