Snake River on our jet boat tour

Snake River

Picking wild blackberries on our lunch stop on Snake River

Look at this beauty!

We stopped at the Nez Perce National Historic Park outside of Lewiston, ID. There’s lots of history that either I didn’t know about, or I forgot. I did not know that without the help of the Nez Perce Indians, the Lewis and Clark Expedition would have perished. The Indians provided food and horses for them.

We are staying at Hells Gate State Park in Lewiston, ID. This is another of Idaho’s fabulous state parks. It is the gateway to both Idaho’s Lewis and Clark country and to Hells Canyon, the deepest river gorge in North America. There are beautiful shady campsites right on the Snake River. They have a great interpretive visitor center here. The jet boat tour we went on through Hells’ Canyon left from the marina at the park.
