THURSDAY

This morning I was on the road by 10:15, heading for Ingram for the Cen-Tex LoW campout at the Johnson Creek RV Resort. The club has camped there several times but this will be my first time. I’ve been away from the area all the other times.

The club house is very nice but it is not very wheelchair friendly and there are no easy chairs. It has several dining areas. They are in process of building a rally hall, which will be much more appropriate for a group like ours. We will use it next year when we return.

We had a good turnout, including two visitors, Fay Loestein (second time) and Lin Owen. Lin has decided to join our chapter. We’re glad to have him.

FRIDAY

Today Dyson, Jeanette, Janie and I went to nearby Kerrville to have lunch at the Green Grocers Deli. Their sandwiches were very good. I had one of their specialties, a BALT sandwich (bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato) and enjoyed it.

Tonight we had dinner at The Lakehouse Restaurant in Kerrville. The food and service were good. It started raining shortly before we left for the restaurant and then it tapered off. Just as we were returning to the clubhouse, though, it started raining again so we all got wet in spite of umbrellas. The temperature was down to 70 degrees by then.

SATURDAY

Because of the weather, most of us stayed indoors a great deal of the time. We had intermittent rain every day during the campout. Of course, that meant that the mold count was sky high. My head started hurting Wednesday and it continued all week end, robbing me of sleep. Nothing I tried would ease it.
