After our late night drive home from Mesquite Christmas Eve, we got a late start Christmas morning. I didn't even wake up until 9am. We hurried to open our gifts to each other, jumped in the shower and arrived a bit later than planned for a Christmas breakfast with Larry & Tawnia. She prepares a wonderful casserole & fruit dish every year. Afterward we watched Miss Jasmine & Levi open a couple of their remaining gifts. Larry & Tawnia were kind enough to wait for us to get there before giving them their 'main' gift. It amazed me how pleased and grateful Jasmine was for each & every one. She took the time to say thank you & give hugs and kisses before giving the gift her full attention. Impressive for a three year old! Just shows what great parenting she is getting. We are so proud of those kids.

We spent a couple of hours visiting before heading back to the house to help with dinner. Bonnie & Cindy had most of it already done by the time we returned, but I did manage to help a bit. We enjoyed the traditional turkey dinner with all of the trimmings & it was delicious. Gifts were exchanged after dinner and we had a great time watching the kids with their new things. I especially enjoyed watching my 'big kid'. As you know Larry & I have several musician friends and we have learned to love & appreciate their talents & abilities. We've decided we both want to learn to play the guitar. Larry's Dad played, but he has been gone for many years now. Bonnie & Larry have been storing his guitar for 40+ years. When we were on our way home last month, Larry called & asked if they would mind if he took lessons on their Dad's guitar. So, unbeknownst to him, Bonnie took it to a music store and had it re-strung & 'gussied' up back to playing condition as a Christmas gift. It looks and sounds great now & was a total surprise to him. Needless to say, it brought him to tears & he is thrilled that his first lessons will be on his Dad's instrument! What an amazingly great Christmas gift!

I am now the proud owner of a Kindle and certainly excited about that. We can unload some weight from the rig & I can tell already that I will get a lot more reading done! I know many of you own one and I've heard good reports about them. Haven't had much time to explore it yet but plan to get on that next week. Today we had lunch with our good friend Pat Cooper. She is in town visiting son Jimmy for the holiday's but will be returning to her home in Washington on January 5th. She is doing well after losing her husband, and our great friend, Jim, earlier this year. It was nice recalling some of the wonderful times we spent together over our 25 year plus friendship. We miss you Jim.

Well, it's my turn to cook this evening so guess I'd better head into the house. We're grilling burgers this evening. I am 'birded' out. That means turkey & chicken, in case you are confused, lol! Have a great night, or day, as the case may be....
