Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

We got on I-10 to this view this morning, ugly!

Looked like there might be a break in it ahead...

Low lying clouds over the hills on both sides, kinda pretty though...

Arizona, here we come...had to stick my head out in the rain...

Nice view to our right...

Liked the lighting here, and of course the clouds too...

It's light, then dark, then light, then dark as we travel along...

Like these rocks!

There's a bunch of them in this area...

Even the desert has color...

Caught this windmill as we flew past....

Tucson dead ahead...

A closer look, love the sky here!

Don't want to post 13 pics, so even though the scenery wasn't...

The wind was TERRIBLE last night! Thank goodness we were back home from Mexico, safe & sound and snug as a bug in a rug, lol! We knew there was a chance of rain this morning and it found it's way here during the night. Toned the wind down a bit this morning which made it a bit better for Larry as we prepared to break camp and head for Arizona. It was cloudy, dark and cold when we finally got on the road at our usual 11am. How does this always happen? No matter what time we get up we never seem to get out before 11am! Oh well, we don't like driving more than 4 hours a day unless we have to anyway.

Our drive on I-10 ran the gamut of weather conditions....we got them all. Wind, rain, snow & finally a bit of blue sky. I vote for all blue sky in the future please if anyone is listening! We never like pulling in the rain and snow is even worse. Fortunately it was light and didn't last for long. Sure glad we decided to take the southern route home. I don't think going through Flagstaff would have been a very good decision. We arrived in Casa Grande around 4:45pm and made our way to the Sundance 1 RV park. We really like this place for our Casa Grande visits. It's very clean, the laundry room is huge and the swimming pool is half outside and half inside. As is the Jacuzzi. Very nice. I should tell you that there is a train track nearby, so we are serenaded with the sounds associated with them throughout the day & night, but we love listening to them. Doesn't bother us a bit!

We are here to visit our friends Gary & Lynn for a couple of days and to make a quick trip to Mesa Market on Saturday. Love that place! I always find neat stuff there and with Christmas coming I'm hoping to pick up a few small gifts. We are also going to meet a couple, John & Joyce Tyo for lunch on Sunday. They have been faithful readers for over four years and this will be our first face-to-face meeting. We can tell from reading their blog that we will be great friends, it's amazing how much we think alike. Anyway, they just began their full-timing the end of October, 'newbies' as we RV'ers say. Hopefully we can give them a couple of pointers about 'things not to do' that we learned the hard way our first year on the road, lol! Sure looking forward to visiting with them!

When we leave here we are headed home to Las Vegas for the next couple of months. Looking forward to seeing family and friends for sure, but sad as well that our East-South adventures are over for this year. Ah but it was great while it lasted! I sure hope you enjoyed at least some small part of the ride....night!
