Today is our anniversary. 26 years I've been hanging around with this guy! He is my best friend and a great partner in life. I am so blessed to spend each & every day with him. We actually spent the day in Palomas, Mexico, just across the border from Deming, New Mexico. We'd crossed the border here in 2007 and had a nice lunch at the Pink Store. Every Tuesday the folks here at Lo-Hi Rv Park go to the Pink Store to shop & have lunch. So we felt that if they were confident enough to still go every week it was probably fairly safe. Turned out just great.

We were actually going to check on new eyeglasses for both of us. As many of you know, I've been to two eye doctors the past couple of years and had glasses made by both and was unable to wear them either time. They gave me a headache within 15 minutes, made the floor spin and blurred everything in the distance. An eye exam revealed that my prescription was terribly wrong & I am now the proud owner of two pair of glasses that so far are working beautifully. At least for the past three hours. Larry has been having trouble with both pair of the glasses that he purchased in March this year. The lenses keep falling out! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Last week he lost a lens in one of the two pair without realizing it was gone. Unfortunately we were not able to retrace our steps to find it. And when he's wearing the second pair, the lens falls in his lap frequently. Bottom line, they repaired that pair today, tested his eyes, and fitted him with a brand new pair of glasses. Two eye exams, 3 pair of new glasses and one pair repaired for $305 in less than 2 hours. Nice, we are happy campers....

After our exam we headed next door to the Pink Store for lunch. Very tasty! They were kind enough to buy us our first margarita for our anniversary. Yes, I said first. Larry ordered a second (I didn't) but he didn't think our waiter heard him so when a second waiter offered him a second he said yes. They both arrived with his second at the same time, soooooo.....we didn't want it to go to waste, lol! They are strong so a girl really needs to be careful.

After lunch we had a good time checking out the many unique things for sale in the store. We didn't buy anything except a bottle of Tequila for brother before heading next door to have a prescription filled for my eyes. Then back to pick up our glasses, ready & waiting. Now that's service. All in all, a great day! We're home now, getting ready to head for Casa Grande, Arizona in the morning. It was lovely today, about 67 and no wind. But this evening the wind has kicked up a bit although I think it's dying back down as I write this. There's a chance of showers tomorrow, after 11am but I think we'll probably hit some along the way too. The weatherman says there is a cold front all over the western states right now. We'll just slow it down a bit and be careful. Good night everybody, sweet dreams!
