This afternoon we had a big Valentine’s Day party at CARE. Of course, the dining room was appropriately decorated. The staff and volunteers always go all out for parties. Everyone received a long-stemmed red rose from the CARE staff. I also had three little valentines in my mailbox, one of them from an unknown person. Four local healthcare agencies and facilities sponsored the party and brought a cake, sodas, cookies, ice cream, hotdogs, and other snacks. Volunteers Tom and Vicki Ketchum supplied karaoke music. A few people sang a little and some danced. I won a door prize of tulips. Two have already bloomed but there are four more buds that probably will open soon. It was all a lot of fun.
Today was the last day for volunteers Rick and JoAnn Beecher. They wanted to stay long enough to attend the party, though. We will miss them but they promised to return next February for another two-month stint.
