Fallon World Trip 2011 travel blog

Our last day in Roma, and we headed off to the Vatican City early to line up for the Museum (including the famous Sisten Chapel). After some investigation and realising we would be standing in line (in the sun) for about 2 hours to get in, we joined a guided tour and were in the door in 20 minutes. Our tour guide, Stephanie, was a wealth of knowledge and with a head set it was a good move as she gave a running commentary throughout the 3 hour tour. We went through the many rooms of the Museum, into the large court yard with the golden world sphere and huge Pine Cone monument, with views of the Vatican City and the beautiful Vatican gardens on the hill then into the AMAZING Sisten Chapel (sorry no photos allowed) down past the Presidents entrance through the tunnel into the Basilica. We then mailed some postcards (sorry not to everyone) from the smallest city in the world, which apparently has the most efficient mail service!!

Then the afternoon was spent enjoying a late lunch in the park next to the zoo and strolling through another city Piazza, Di Spagna, soaking up the history, the atmosphere and another special water fountain.
