Basically we have been hanging out in Chanute waiting for the Ford dealer in Tahlequah to fix my truck. They are replacing a cracked head, two fuel injector sleeves, and now, as of today, the turbo. I did drive to Talequah two days ago because the truck was supposed to be ready. At 6:30 PM that day it was not done. I had to get a motel and spend the night. Susan had stayed with the trailer in Chanute. The next day the truck was ready and I started to Chanute. After 5 miles I know there was a problem with the turbo charger. I took it back. Today they ordered a new turbo charger. We may be stuck here until next Wednesday. We are now missing the Escapee Rally we paid for and Susan is going to miss her driving lesson.
A few days ago Susan went around the RV park and invited everyone to come over to our trailer for a visit. Almost everybody came over and we all had a good time talking with each other. Most all of us were HitchHiker owners.
Today we took a day trip to a huge machine called Big Brutus. I won't bore you with the specifications. Needless to say, this might be the largest machine in the world. It was used to scoop soil off of the coal beds that were below the surface here in Kansas. It was used for about a dozen years when it was not cost effective. They could not sell the machine so it was abandoned in place. Top speed on this puppy was 0.22 mph.
At least the weather is really nice now. Good thing we have the HD satellite now because we are really using it.
