We had one of those “wowser” days again today. We visited the Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert. We spent over five hours exploring this incredible park. I took over 800 pictures. We were both absolutely exhausted by the time we finished walking all the trails and exploring. We saw so many interesting things and places, I am going to have to break the 800 pictures up into several updates just to give each of the places we visited the time they deserve.

We started out at the visitor center. The visitor center alone has enough to see for several updates. :-) We watched the video and then went outside and walked the trail through the petrified forest area behind the visitor center.

The museum inside was also incredible! The pictures added to this update were all taken while still at the visitor center. You could spend hours exploring right here, but we also drove a 28 mile tour afterwards. The next updates will cover many stops along the tour. I hope you enjoy the tour as much as we did. It was an amazing day, check back later for more updates covering this awesome park.
