We went on a driving tour today all around Whiteriver, Arizona and the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. We enjoyed seeing this beautiful area with the White River running through it and the huge mountains in the area. We were amazed to see wild horses roaming free in the area. We stopped and watched a beautiful baby feeding. We looked for fences In the area, they were totally free without fences. I am not sure if they just roam free in the whole area and know where to go home, or if they are totally wild. Either way, we were all very excited to see them.
We drove pass the river and watched local Indians fishing, then we ran into more horses all along the drive, again with no fenced in areas. It was so cool to watch them in the wild. They kept their distance from us, mama especially moved away with her baby when she saw us park our car nearby. It was cool to watch. We also saw a lot of local cowboys riding horses in the area. It was a beautiful “back to nature” drive and we all enjoyed it much. Check back later for more from Arizona.
