|We woke up to 28 degrees...yes 2 8 degrees. We have not felt temps below freezing in many many months. It was a bit warmer by the time we left Breckenridge - 38. We drove about 7 hours to Durango and went up and down mountains. At one point we were 12,000 feet above sea level. Quite the headache. I have been told to drink more water - but I blame it on the beer and too much walking. We drove past several stops that were just too beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. We arrived in Durango around 2:30 and hit the train station to buy our tickets for tomorrow's trip to Silverton CO. It's a 3 1/2 hour trip on a steam and coal fired locomotive. That means another 3 1/2 hours back down. I hope to get pictures of It for tomorrow's update. Sadly, we will have to leave here on Sunday. It has been my favorite place so far.
We have also managed to be together for 6 days and nights and are still happy and smiling. It is so great to cross off several things from your bucket list with your best friend.
