Frank and Joyce 2016 travel blog

Finally have some internet again. We have been in lots of dead spots for the cell phone and then our relatives in Winnipeg do not have computers. We are currently in Sault St Marie at a campsite that promised WiFi but it went down so I am making this draft and hopefully can post it tonight. We have had a chance to visit with some people we haven't seen for 8 months, 3 years, six years and some for over 50 years. We have had rain everyday since we left and only a few hours here and there of sunlight. It is quite disappointing as we took this route so that we could see some new things and collect rocks from other places. We don't even want to get out of the vehicle some times. We headed south from Kenora and it was a good idea. No traffic so we could go at our own speed. Lots of lakes and cottages along that route. More than 90% of the vehicles were towing boats. We stopped at Kakabeca Falls near Thunder Bay and also at the Amethyst mines east of there. We did that last time too and they deserved repeat visits. Another nice place was Aquasabon Falls along Hiway 11. We are planning to take a ferry from South Baymouth to Tobermory going across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay to the Bruce Peninsula like we did last time as the drive around that area is long and redundant. We already have 45 extra pounds in the truck, 25 of amethyst an 20 of colorful rocks from the shores of Lake Superior and a few from our cousins' pit at Winnipegosis. Will enjoy creating a new rock garden at home. frank and I are having the best conversations along these highways. Yesterday we said we are planning our future, but I think it's already here. The gas prices here are 1.10 to 1.26 in places but are now staying around 1.11. The lilacs are just starting to bloom and the maple leaves still haven't fully opened. The truck is running beautifully and we are still getting along well. Love to all. Leave us a message too.
