Our trip from Ozark to West Memphis, AR was four and a half hours, 254 miles, of boring, fighting the wind and trucks, driving along I-40 East. There was little to see or take pictures of other than construction, traffic and trees today. We did manage to give the Mothership a drink in West Memphis at 2.499/gal, much higher than the 2.159 we paid in NW Oklahoma last time!
We are staying at Tom Sawyer's RV Park
right on the shores of the Mississippi River, just downstream from Memphis, so we can watch out our windshield at the tugs and barges that pass through going both up and downstream. We have a very long pull-though with 50 amps, full hookups and a very level concrete pad. The Verizon is good and the satellite was an easy sighting. There are a lot of trees so you have to request satellite friendly when reserving and reserving is a must - there is a sign on the road to the park telling you not to come in unless you have reservations or want to dry camp!
We didn't do anything here but relax and enjoy watching the barges and how they have to maneuver around the river curves. Tomorrow we head for a six or seven night stay at Seven Points COE just east of Nashville.
