This afternoon our Silver Sneakers class had our Christmas potluck luncheon in our exercise room at Gold’s Gym. We had collected cash gifts, which class members had asked me to present to each of the three instructors. Patricia, our newest instructor, was really surprised. After our meal, there was a drawing for door prizes. I received a nice little plastic measuring tape.
One of my park neighbors, Russell, took on the job of raking and bagging the leaves on my site. I saw him picking up his own earlier in the day and asked him if he’d like the job. He’s a remodeling contractor but, even though yard work is not his normal business, he agreed to do it. I’m very grateful to him. I’d rather pay a neighbor to do something than to have a stranger do it.
