Fun Travel travel blog

OK, I'm not sure what date this is, but it's Sunday, so I think it's May 28th.

I'm at a new racetrack near Shelton, Washington. I got here yesterday around 3:00 pm after lugging the trailer from Burlington through Seattle and Tacoma. Here it was, Saturday about noon and for 50 miles before Seattle and after Tacoma, it was like a 12 lane parking lot! I can't imagine what rush hour is like around here. It didn't help that I missed the stupid Express Lanes sign in Seattle. In the 20 or 30 times I've been down I5, I've caught the express lane about 50% of the time! Either I'm a bad sign reader or it's poor signage. I'll go with the latter

Did I mention that the Interstate pavement was bad? It was a good test for the trailer. At times I thought it might go one way while I was going another!

Anyway, I arrived in sunshine and great weather and put on some shorts and a t-shirt to watch the racing but by the last race (3 hours later) I was wearing jeans, a sweater and a jacket! Typical north west Pacific weather which included a pretty good wind. I'd unloaded the Harley for a trip into town but decided it was too cold. I'll probably do that today as the sun's out again.

The reason I didn't send a report yesterday was because the parking area is down in a valley and I couldn't get out on my iPad. Today, I'm in a chair on the top of a hill, in the middle of the race track with bikes screaming by! (I took a short video of them and will try and attach it to this message, but don't hold your breath.)

Anyway, that's enough for now. I'll try and find the video and send this off.

Cheers,

Darry

Sorry, no clip. It won't let me do it.
