2009 Athens to Amsterdam travel blog

Up early this morning to get to Pireus, which is the main port of Athens. Arrived around 6:30am, found our ferry and boarded ready for 7:30 departure. The ferry stopped at two other islands – Syros and Tinos before arriving at Mikonos around 1:00pm. Grabbed a taxi and headed to where we are staying – Villa Konstantin. This is located on a hill overlooking the main town with a great view of the ocean. We have a quite a large room with a kitchenette and a good size bathroom. The area is very quiet and it is less than a 10 minute walk down to the town (and about 20 mins back!). Should get some good exercise here.

We walked into town. It is very early in the season for here, so a lot of places are not yet open, but also the place is not crowded which suits us just fine. Everyone is preparing for the tourist season, painting every thing in sight, they have only two colours here white and blue. The out there people use a different shadeof blue.

After some very warm days in Athens, it is a bit cool and cloudy today, hopefully the weather will improve over the next few days.
