Copper's Creek outside Melbourne

Today we pulled into port in Melbourne about 9:00 a.m. Melbourne is the state capital of Victoria, and it is the fastest growing city in Australia. On average, 1500 new people re-locate to Melbourne each week. The population of Melbourne is 2.7 million people living in 59 separate suburbs within 715 square miles. The city itself spreads far inland from Port Phillip Bay and the mouth of the Yarra River to the lush Dandenong Ranges. Our group went in several different directions today on various shore excursions ranging from exploring the city of Melbourne to riding a puffing billy (steam train), from experiencing a working Aussie homestead to a wildlife sanctuary to exploring ghost towns, mines, and the mountains. Everyone will have a lot to catch upon together at dinner tonight!
