We took a great tour today on the island of Kauai. It was called "Hollywood in Hawaii" and our guides took us to numerous spots where movies, tv shows, commercials, etc had been filmed. It was very interesting to hear about all of the details and how Hollywood "fixes" locations to look like what they want. The most interesting spot was the old Cocoa Palms Resort. In its day, this was the place to stay on Kauai. In 1992, a hurricane destroyed a large part of it, and it has never re-opened. We were allowed to walk through some of the old lobby and grounds. This was the place that Elvis always stayed while in Hawaii, and the film, "Blue Hawaii" was filmed there also. This was our favorite island of all. We loved the lush greenery and beautiful panoramic views.
