Typical of today's Montana scenery

Rocky outcrop near Livingston MT

In Canada we have STOP and ARRET; in Montana...

Downtown Livingston

It looked like rain as we packed up the bus for the next leg of the journey. Once on the highway, it did rain for awhile, and then got sunny again...great fall weather and not too cold at night yet.

There are some really interesting geological formations around this area of Montana that make for good pictures. Rocky outcroppings, wind and water erosion and other works of Mom Nature that are pretty awe inspiring. We also saw some pronghorn antelope grazing in the field, but unfortunately didn't get the camera out in time. And that was the only herd we saw during today's trip.

We were going to try to make Butte today, but it's just too far for a 9:30am start and our leisurely pace. Apparently there's a fair sized mountain pass just east of Bozeman, so we decided that 3pm was a good time to stop and Livingston was the place. We can leave the toad unhooked to do the Bozeman Pass (26 miles or one marathon from here), and then hook it back up for the balance of the journey. At least that's the plan.

We're staying at Osen's RV Park and Campground. It's a small park, and on the plus side it has an enclosed dog walking area, so C&T can run around off leash. On the down side, the cable TV does not work well (likely due to it being outside and unprotected from the weather), and their internet connection, although good when its working, is shut off during the evening and night! We need to discuss 'always on' connectivity!

Tonight was a "no cooking" night again, so we found the Twin Dragon Chinese Restaurant in town that does a good job of Lo Mein cooking. Not only supper, but some left over for lunch on Sunday too. We may have to check out the golf course before we leave on Sunday.
