Broadening Our Horizons - May 2007 travel blog

We tore ourselves away from the gorgeous seashore and rumbling motorcycles at Myrtle Beach and turned in the direction of home. As we came northwest, the bright blue sky turned gray and murky. We thought we were approaching the precipitation that is forecast to move across the state, but the campground owner said that particulate matter from the wildfires burning in Florida and Georgia, has worked its way up here. We are on our way to see the Smokey Mountains, but they may be so smokey, we will not be able to see them well at all. We will be sorry to cross the border tomorrow and leave the relatively reasonable gas prices.
