|We left Beaver Creek at about 8:00am, and traveled to Haines Junction, Yukon. We had traveled this part of the AlCan before and it was the worst part of the trip. We have spoken about frost heaves, gravel breaks, and bumps before, but this is really the worst stretch. The key word is "SLOW" and you will not have too many problems. We saw some Eagles and a pair of Trumpeter Swans along the way. We had lunch by a lake, and Joanne cooked us a brat, with chips, milk and a cookie for dessert! :>) We got to camp about 2:00pm, setup and then Joanne did some laundry, etc. We were invited to Anna and Uwe's for cocktails along with some other folks. Prior too, we had a briefing for tomorrow's journey to Skagway, Ak. The cocktail and appetizer party lasted far past dinner hour, and so we skipped dinner, but had sufficient nourishment with the ample appetizers. We left the party at about 9:00pm with lots of day light left, and went to our camper and retired for the evening. This campground was not "user friendly". You could not dispose of any garbage, waste, etc, at the camp ground, and the Internet service was atrocious.
