Today was a day of Mass Ascension, competition flying event and key grab. It is incredible to be able to be on the field with all the balloons. The pilots love it and actually give out fact cards for their balloons. Especially the special shape balloons. The Mass Ascension was like a zoo but OH SO VERY ORGANIZED..We were lucky to have a friend hook us up with some of their long time friends that had a balloon there. We learned a lot from them and it was fun seeing them get the balloon out and ready for launch. The different competitions included large targets on the ground that the pilots would have to drop a flag and try and get inside the target for prizes. Then, as you can see on the zebras picture there were also poles on the field. At the top of the poles were envelopes with prizes and one also had keys to a new car. It was so much fun watching them try and maneuver in to do this competition. The crowds were going wild when a target was hit or a pilot just barely missed a pole... When this competition was done the balloons came in from all directions...you almost felt like you were being invaded..At one point the sky was just empty then all of a sudden they were coming from everywhere..The winds kept changing and the pilots were then trying to find "the box"..On Thursday and Friday they had fireworks over the field that were awesome....the day just went from early to late. It was all just TOO COOL....
