Change of plans...
17 Jan 2007
|Well guys, change of plans...as you may have guessed from the length of time since my last update.
I was supposed to head from India to Nepal on New Years but there was a change of itinerary and the trekking I wanted to do there I wasn't able to do and mostly I would be travelling between cities with not enough time to actually do what I wanted to do in that week. And after spending a couple of weeks in Thailand just 12 months ago I figured I couldn't really be bothered. I've been on the go for awhile now, I'm tired of living out of a backpack, wearing my camoflauge pants and washing my laundry in a sink!
So I changed my ticket on New Years Eve, flew out of Delhi the next day, stopped off in Hong Kong to see Daniel and Carly again for a few hours at the airport (they got married last Saturday!) and then flew to Brisbane.
I spent a few days with Corrie (who I met on my Europe leg), went to Bribie Island and we caught up with Bubba (also met in Europe) then went to stay with Fran for a few days.
I flew back to Sydney on Friday and have been staying at Fishing Point, housesitting for Del while she is in India.
I'm moving back into my place at Terrigal tomorrow and so ends the long journey and the shocking return to reality! Its been really strange being back again, all the little things especially; like making my own bed, eating a home cooked meal, driving a car, seeing familiar faces...all things I haven't done since last September.
This trip has been absolutely amazing and I've loved it (even the bits that kinda sucked!) And I've loved hearing from all of you back home, it made all the difference.
So...now that I'm back change those emails, texts and messages to phone calls. Get in touch, I can't wait to catch up!!! And the beauty of having had this website is that I won't now bore you with 1000's of photos and boring stories because you know what I've been up to anyway :)
"The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet."
- J.R.R Tolkien
Til next trip...
