We drove from Sedalia, and got to Grove, Oklahoma. It was there we had tire problems. I will spare you the whole story. But it took me two days to straighten out what was the problem, buy two tires from WalMart and have them installed in another tire store that could do alignments. About $600 later we hit the road for Thackerville, Oklahoma which is on the border of Texas. For a change we actually had a full day drive with nothing going wrong on the truck. The next day we pulled stakes and headed to Poolville, Texas.
We arrived about Noon and went straight to 2L Custom Trucks. The owner, Wayland Long, talked with us and answered all our questions about Medium Duty Trucks. He had nothing to sell us, be he found one in Indiana and he had it driven to his shop. The truck arrived today and he handed us the keys and let us go for a long drive. We had already negotiated a price for the truck, options, and trade in for the Ford. I called Amerprise and sold one of my mutual funds. Today I spent 4 hours on the phone getting insurance quotes and getting that settled. Insurance was not bad at all. I found that you do have to deal with a company that understands fulltime RVing. I will register the truck when I get to Montana (now that I am a land owner in Montana). I will re-register the trailer there also. I should have done that when I bought the trailer instead of registering in California and paying them $8,000. That was a huge monetary mistake. I arranged for the mutual fund money to be wired to 2L Custom Trucks and that will happen on Friday. Tomorrow, Thursday, the truck will be ready and he will turn it over to me even though the money will not be in his account. He trust us (he did hear me arrange the whole thing and it is now in the hands of Amerprise). So on Friday we will pull the trailer to McKinney, Texas where we will visit Patti and Steve. From there we get the air conditioning fixed in the trailer in Denton, Texas at Camping World.
