Maryville, Tennessee. Home Station
Jan 24, 2010
UPDATE: At home station
Location: Maryville, Tennessee
Hello to All,
Just a short note to the log.
We broke camp yesterday and made the pull back to Maryville with no problems. As a precaution, we re-winterize the Cougar before we departed the campground. We did not need frozen water lines in case the temps dropped below freezing.
Glad we came back when we did, as the weather turned very nasty just a few hours after we left Middle Tennessee. High winds and rain filled the vacuum we left behind.
Note: Most campers fear high winds especially if you are set up in the woods. Those tree limbs that fall out of trees are dangerous as well as costly if they hit your rig or much worse....you!!
Chris and I appreciate all of the prayers and e mails we have received on this short 10 day trip. It is always nice to be able to share the road with our friends.
This trip was not intended to have been for pleasure. We actually came to help care for Chris' Mom for a few days while other family members were away on vacation, and or attending to other family members recuperating from surgery. It has been a very busy 10 day trip for us!!!
Anyways...we are looking forward to an early Spring and more nice weather. Chris and I continue to work on the itinerary for 2010. So far, we have Destin Beach in our sights for May, and maybe some state park work for early fall. Would love for some of you to send us your recommendations on places to visit and camp. We are always open for suggestions.
Also, if you are into camping and RV'ing...please let us know and maybe we can hook up down the road.
And if you have a web site about your camping experiences please let us know and we can link them here. We would love to hear from you!!!
We will be here at HOME for the next few months waiting on the worst of the winter weather to pass. If something changes we will let you know. The pictures above are from the last snow we had here in the foothills of the Smokies.
Again, thanks so much for checking in on us...we love having you do that. Please leave a note in the GUEST log if you please.
In Dad's memory............the adventure continues!!!!
