We're taking a year off to travel! travel blog

We had some time to spare before we needed to be in Austin so we scheduled at stay at an RV park in Robertsdale, Alabama. It was farther away than we like to drive in a day, so we stayed the night in a Walmart parking lot about half the way there. This one was very small, so we went in to ask permission, which we did receive. It was early in the afternoon when we stopped so we put out the awning and our chairs and celebrated 5 o'clock somewhere as we watched the traffic go by.

The next day we completed our journey, taking the scenic route as we missed the turn into the campground. (Thank you GPS!) This RV park looked more like a national forest campground. We had a fairly roomy site in the midst of tall pines with the longest needles I had ever seen. There was a display case in the office when we checked in displaying some lovely pine needle baskets woven from those needles.

Total distance: 475 miles
