Dory Flag

We attended the Annual Dory Dazes Festival in Pacific City. A Dory is a boat the fishermen use to ply their trade. It has a flat bottom which allows them to launch and recover their boats on the beach. The parade was filled with all sorts or decorated Dorys, a Library drill team, horses, Horse poop picker upper and antique cars. We went to Kiawana Cape to have some delicious fresh Oregon Halibut. We watched a Dory come in from fishing while one was being launched. Pacific City is the only place in the USA that Dorys are launched and recovered this way.
