April snow in Overgaard, AZ

One of many wine tasting parties

The drive up to Overgaard in the White Mountains on April 1 was beautiful. The desert is alive with wildflowers and green grasses. Since arriving at the Elk Pines RV Resort, we have experienced snow showers and some really cold nights down into the 20’s. Our first night up here we did not have the faucet wrapped and our water froze. My pansies that I brought up here are managing to survive the cold nights. We’ve been told that once May arrives, the weather will improve. We’ll see!

So far, we are really enjoying our jobs as assistant managers of the resort. The managers, Ed and Joanne, are a super couple to work with. Steve has the harder job with a lot of physical labor to get the park in order after the winter. So far, there are about 5 seasonal couples that have arrived from the Phoenix area. The activity calendar will be jammed packed once June arrives and the majority of the park will be full.
