This morning I saw Dr. Stierman, an ear, nose, throat and allergy specialist, about my thyroid nodules. She said that one of them is too large for her to do a biopsy on in her office; so she referred me to South Austin Hospital to have both nodules done under anesthesia with ultrasound guidance. I will have to spend one night in the hospital.
She said that another alternative is to just have the thyroid removed to begin with. That would mean taking thyroid pills the rest of my life to keep me from becoming overweight. Wow! Those options are as much fun as deciding whether I want to be hit on the head with a hammer or a baseball bat. :>)
