Fading Fall colours, Provo Canyon

Hunter's Moon rising over Utah

To be said in an American accent, 10-4. This morning I was scraping the ice off my car, and five hours later I was driving along with both windows down. Although I enjoyed the Rockies very much, I do feel some relief at having escaped for now the adverse weather. I am now back in Southern Utah (definitely the best bit), very dry and hot in the daytime, pleasant at night and lots of Mormons. It was a long day's driving - about nine hours - with a short walk in Provo Canyon near Salt Lake City to break the journey. Hopefully this will be the last big drive I have to do. I had hoped to make it all the way to Moab, but it was getting dark so I am in this place called Green River, that basically serves travellers on the interstate and to the nearby Parks, as far as I can work out. Its pleasant enough, I even had my first all-you-can-eat buffet for a while. I haven't put on half as much weight as I could have done here, but I have put on some!
