We hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We enjoyed watching the local parade in Craig today. They started celebrating the Grand Olde West Days yesterday and it runs from Friday through Monday, spanning the weekend with all of its excitement. It kicked off with a concert Friday night and continues with tons of activities in downtown Craig on Memorial Day.
The Wild West Weekend paired up with Grand Olde West Days, offering a wide variety of rodeo-centric activities at the Moffat County Fairgrounds with a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Camp in the morning and all rodeo competitions all day, followed by the town parade at 3:00 P.M.
Saturday’s festivities will conclude with a barn dance at the fairgrounds, featuring music from the band Smokin’ Gun. Adding to the rodeo fun of the Wild West Weekend, Craig will be the host city for the junior high and high school state rodeo finals. With the first round Friday, the second Sunday and the short go Monday, it will be a packed holiday weekend.
We didn’t make it to all the rodeos but we certainly enjoyed the local parade and the carnival, the horses and all the cowboys and cowgirls. This is a true cowboy town, I was really wishing I had worn my cowgirl hat Jerry bought me in Texas. :-) We had a great day! I hope you enjoy all the parade pictures. Have a wonderful Memorial day weekend and thanks a million to all veterans. We appreciate you much!
