It was a pleasant 314 mile drive from Purcell, OK to Palo Duro Canyon State Park just outside of Canyon, TX. We managed to stay off of I-40 and drive through the countryside for most of the trip. The roads were pretty good and we made good time even though we stayed off the interstate as much as possible.
The state park itself is very nice and big-rig friendly. The sites are of good size and we have 50 amps and good water pressure as well. The park is located in the bottom of the canyon so that requires you to descend a two-mile, 10% grade from the rim which was no problem. We had an easy shot to the satellite but have no Verizon signal at all and the campground has no Wi-Fi as well.
We did absolutely nothing while here except relax and enjoy our surroundings. Luckily the weather cooperated and the winds died down .
We are headed for Albuquerque, NM tomorrow for another one-night stay. Hopefully we will have Verizon so I can get this posted then.
