Left the campground around 11:00 for the 180-mile trip to our next stop in Clarksville Tennessee. Had some driving on interstate and some on US-79, a very nice “red” road.

Went through several neat little country towns and passed lots of big farms, many planted with what I imagine is winter wheat and looking so very green. Usually this is plowed under in the spring to add nutrients to the soil before planting the summer crop. I don’t know if that’s what they do with it down here, though.

WELCOME TO TENNESSEE at 1:10 p.m.

Arrived at the Clarksville RV Park and Campground at 1:20. Nice park, long spaces. Since our reservation was made just yesterday, we got the last long pull-thru lot and it’s pretty close to the interstate (I-24) so there is considerable road noise. We’ll only be here 2 nights so that won’t be too bothersome. Heck, after living under the Nellis AFB jets for 3 months, a little highway noise will be nothing! While Bob was checking us in, a Chinook helicopter went overhead on it’s way to Ft. Campbell right up the road from us. Nellie was lying on the dashboard and spotted it. She watched it the whole way…probably thinking that was one big bird!

Bob watched the Thanksgiving Day parades on TV this morning but since it was such a beautiful day to be outside, I figured I’d take advantage of it and I went geocaching. If I go out our road here, we're really only about 2 miles from the Kentucky state line so I found some Kentucky caches and some Tennessee caches today. Filled the gas tank in preparation for our trip as it continues south to Yuma, Tennessee tomorrow.

Had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner this evening. We don’t “do” turkeys since it’s only the two of us but Bob made the most delicious, tender chicken along with spaghetti squash, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. Oh yummmmm. PLUS, he made an apple pie and that’s sitting on the counter, waiting until we have room for it in our tummies.

I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving with friends and/or family.
