Bam - what is left

A fabulous drive through the desert and mountains from Kerman to Zahedan. It was 44 deg C at the maximum temperature.

We stopped at the town of Bam which is a world heritage site for the mud Citadel and town that was built in 500 AD, but very severely damaged in the earthquake in 2003. It is still a scene of devastation, as is much of the modern town where many were killed.

Off to Pakistan tomorrow.

If you have sent a text message to our satellite phone - thank you. Unfortunately I understand that a number have not come through. We are responding to messages to this site though.
