Jeff and Susan's 2009 11 Month Trip to New England travel blog

We drove from Tahlequah to Chanute, KS and stopped at our favorite BBQ place on the way. We arrived in Chanute needing propane but it was Sunday so not propane store was open. I also needed beer but they don't sell beer in Kansas on Sunday's. The next day I called the factory and they said they could take our trailer at 10 AM.

We did have another Senior moment. After we setup, we drove around Chanute to find a propane dealer, buy beer, and shop at WalMart. I was stopped in the middle of town by the camper next to us. They were at a sidewalk cafe eating lunch. I had left a door open on the side of the truck and I was dropping stuff all over town. Another fellow tracked me down and gave me some of the stuff. We retraced our steps and we ran into that fellow again, and he had found some really valuable stuff. It is two tools needed to hook up the trailer to my new hitch box. We didn't find any of the other stuff. I think the only thing missing is a set of $200 jumper cables. They are the best ones made, and they are the type that tow trucks us. Oh well, at least I got the two tools back.

After getting back in camp we hung out for a while. Then Susan needed my truck keys. We couldn't find them. I was crawling through the truck and my neighbor asked me what I was doing. I told her trying to find my keys. She said they were in the bed of my truck. Susan and I think she needs to travel with us so she can help us remember stuff. Getting old is not fun.
