The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

Another very hot day so we decided to find a suitable tree shaded park. Our choice was the Fredensborg Palace. From our guide book the Palace Park was just the ticket on a hot day and it was quite right.

We enjoyed several hours just sitting or strolling the park with its avenues of trees. We found the Esrum Lake and also the various sculptures in and around the park.

The Fredensborg Palace was built in 1720 by Frederik IV and was called the “Peace Palace” The palace is Danish royal family’s summer residence but we discovered the Palace gardens were open but only in July. We therefore had further strolling through these gardens and excellent views of the palace.
