|Fri, 07 Aug: We head north to "Da Yuppa"...
One thing we really like about staying at Wal*Marts is how easy it is to get underway in the morning. We didn't disconnect the car so we don't have to hook that up. No utility plugs or hoses, so we don't worry about them either. So, once fed, watered, and the check list behind us we rolled wheels out of the Cadillac Wally about 0830.
We continued north on US 131 to Elmira, where we topped off the diesel tank at Lower Peninsula prices. Then east on M 32 to Gaylord where we took I 75 north. We crossed the Straits of Mackinac on the Mackinac Bridge, and once in the Upper Peninsula headed west on US 2.
US 2 was a busy road today with considerable traffic in both directions. Traffic moved well and we made good time. We stopped for lunch at a rest stop on US 2 and arrived at the Kewadin Casino east of Manistique a few minutes before two. We found one of the two 30 amp courtesy spots and glommed onto it. These are free sites and we are welcome to stay as long as we wish. Sweet!
We're not sure if we'll continue on tomorrow or not. It is raining and more is in the forecast. Again, we're pretty flexible with our schedule so we'll just have to see.
Today's run was 221 miles with a fuel economy of 8⅔ mpg.
