Isla de Benidorm with the smog of the city behind

Lovely cliffs beyond the smog

Crossing the meridian

Greenwich on the Spanish coast!

Punta de Ifach with Calpe on the left

There was very little wind in the morning so we motored for the first four hours passing the Isla de Benidorm, with the hideous sky-scrapers of Benidorm town in the background, and getting a close inspection from a Guardia Civil boat which thankfully decided we weren’t worth the effort of boarding! At 14:52 we crossed the meridian at Greenwich (there really is a place called Greenwich on the Spanish coast!) We had planned to get as far as Calpe and anchor there for the night, going across to the Balearics the following day, but checking the latest forecast on our trusty Kindle, we realised that the wind was the right strength and direction that afternoon and would then be from the wrong direction for several days. So at 15:30 we turned north-east from Calpe and headed for Ibiza.
