Dave - Singapore
Singapore has been an amazing place. It is a model of efficiency and completely unlike its neighbors in South East Asia. There is very little haggling, bargaining or hassles here. It is just a very modern, very clean, very well run place.
We booked ourselves in at a Hotel called 1929, which is in an old restored warehouse in the chinatown district. It's very modern, well furnished and designed, and makes a good base for exploring the city. Its one downside is size, the whole room can't be more than 15 M square, and there is no closet, and a minibar that holds only two waters, and two coke cans. The glass walled bathroom, also does not provide a whole lot of privacy, but there is a great roof top jaccuzi and one the best restaurants in Singapore, along with a flat screen TV in the room and wireless internet, so on the whole it's a pretty cool place.
For dinner we headed down to boat quay, a district filled with great bars and restaurants for a river front dinner, and then I toured some of the local electronics shops while Natalya tried to get a hair cut, that seemed to get somewhat lost in translation and has resulted in her hair being a lot shorter than she hoped for (as you will see in newer pictures).
