On through to the astern part of Provence: first stop Grasse where Yve did a perfume factory tour

Then into Nice. Accommodation in Nice, nice and central, close enough to walk to the beach, the old town area and shopping areas. SO we walked and ate out. Mike tried snails. I was less interesting but delicious: Fish soup and roast vegie risotto.

Mike Pete and I took the hop on hop off bus.

Pete and I hopped off several times to explore museums and Art galleries. The most memorable place was the library, museum of modern art and theatre complex.

Of these the library section was most specky

This head is the administration area of the library.

And this park is the roof of the library

Architecture is over the top. I didn't take photos of the hotels on the promenade. Too busy gawking. They looked like wedding cakes. In fact for photos of NICE go to websites!!!

To add to the English rich moving in, in the 17th 18th centuries, the Russians added their presence after the Crimea war when they were given the right to use the Port. Their rich followed. I think everyone by then was trying to outdo the other.

Current architecture is imaginative and with lots of good art

In all Nice had vibrant energy and everyone, tourists and locals alike, strolled

around realaxed and enjoying life. And alswyas courteous anad helpful
