For today I had planned to do some sightseeing in the area. However, the weather had a definite hand in causing me to abandon those plans! For the last few days it has been raining off and on all day. The temperatures have been in the low 70s – a very welcome relief for August in Texas! We were under a flash flood warning for a while because the ground is saturated and sometimes the rain was quite heavy. I saw only two vehicles at the river. Now that’s what I call diehard fishers!
Since playing tourist wasn’t convenient, I worked on a little booklet of Scrabble words to use as a cheat sheet against Maven. :>) Lately I’ve been winning quite a few games at the advanced level but I’d like to win more often. Maybe, with my little booklet at hand, I can advance to level four soon.
The sky finally cleared around 6:00. There were still enough clouds to make a pretty sunset, though, so I went out to take a few photographs. The sunset wasn’t very dramatic but was lovely, even so.
