More Bariloche

Here I am in Rio Gallegos again, and I like it even less than last time, mind you, it wasn't three a.m. then in a very cold and strong wind like it is now. Last night I went up the bus station in El Calafate with the grim prospect of several hours wait till 3 a.m. to find a bus leaving for Rio Gallegos, so I got it, got in at 3, and after some trouble finding a taxi at that godforsaken time in that godforsaken place, had four hours in a hotel and a shower, better than the previous option. Before I had been told the last bus was at 4 pm. And then I got a bus to Comodoro Rivadavia, two hours wait there - not much fun either, tryng to get flight tickets off the internet to no avail - and then the overnight bus to Bariloche. On the way though I read one of the best books I have read for years - Vernon God Little - so good I felt I should buy everyone I know a copy. Very clever, very funny and very easy to read. And I read my first ever Stephen King book, a lot better than I thought it would be. Often not a lot of choice when it comes to trading books. The incredibly monotonous pampas nearly drove me nuts though.

I put in a couple of pics of Bariloche - nothing special, but I felt there should be some pics. As you can see, it has a very Swiss/German feel to it, basically because there were a lot of immigrants from there to here.
