It's a beautiful day here at Dead Horse...

A quick shot of Jerome's city sign...

Entering town you can pretty much tell the age of the buildings...

View off to my right, nice!

I think this firehouse is too cool!

Moving on down the Mingus Mountain Scenic Drive, the road we just...

My friend Mary & me! She's not grouchy, we just didn't get...

It was a beautiful morning here at Dead Horse State Park. We headed for Prescott about 10:30am after deciding to go over Mingus Pass, through Jerome instead of taking the Interstate, which might have been a bit quicker. I'd forgotten that what goes up with twists & turns at 20 mph also comes down the same way! It took much longer to arrive than we'd planned. But we arrived safely and Mary was waiting patiently.

We chatted a bit but hunger soon intervened and we made our way to one of the many Mexican restaurants in town, Casa Alvarez for lunch. Mary had eaten there a few days earlier and suggested it for today's lunch. She treated us, which we appreciated, even though we'd planned to treat her. Afterward we stopped to say a quick hi to Mary's son Tom whom I've known since he was 20 years of age. He's 45 now, amazing! Tom has worked for the past 12 years as the meat cutter at the New Frontier Market. An interesting store, filled with many natural/organic items as well as 'normal' fare. I purchased a couple of bottles of acidophilus, a probiotic which has really helped with my stomach issues of a few months ago. I understand their meat is wonderful if you get in the area.

Back at the house we visited for another 3 hours and all too soon it was time to say our goodbye's. We'd planned to call our friends Tim & Crystal to check on them while in town but, it got so late we needed to head for home to care for Onyx. And, we'd intended to return the same route taken earlier today for some 'good' pics of Jerome but chose the faster trip due to the lateness of the day. Ah well, maybe next time. All in all, a nice day spent with an old friend, good food, and a lovely drive.

We head for Phoenix on Thursday for a 3 day Millionaire Mindset Seminar. We're staying at Stan & Phyllis's and they have arranged for our rig to be washed & waxed on Friday morning. We are so glad! It really needs it and neither of us have the time or the energy to do it. Hopefully we'll learn how to earn enough $$$ at our seminar to pay for it, lol! So, we'll see you there. Thanks for stopping by...
