Arrived in Newport, Rhode Island on a rainy day rode around to see the Mansions and watch fool kids trying to surf in the rough seas. Took some pictures of some beautiful sail boats then relaxed for the evening. Got up at sunrise to a nice day went to Newport Historical Society to read up on the history of the town. Then we went to the Legendary Mansion of Cornelius Vanderbilt ll The Breakers, where some of the scenes in the movie Mr. North were filmed, they do not allow photos to be taken but take my word for it, it is a magnificence 70 room summer estate built in 1895 with central heating and 20 bathrooms that offered hot and cold running fresh or salt water in the tubs.
